Catch up

I tried to do a quick post a few weeks ago, then ran out of time to finish, and now threw all of those pictures together as well as the ones we’ve taken since then.  So here are a LOT of pictures and videos.

Everything is going well.  I’m almost done with school.  I am precepting in the NICU at the hospital now and LOVE it.  Odin went to physical therapy almost every week until last week when the therapist said his torticollis has resolved and we don’t need to go back anymore.  Now the pediatrician is saying his head is growing too fast and we need to see a neurologist in December.  Whenever we fix one thing, another problem pops up.  He is doing great, otherwise, and is already starting to crawl!  He still only has his 2 bottom teeth, but you can see a bunch more getting ready to pop out on top.  He is still extremely happy and loves flashing his 2 pearly whites at everyone.  Parker is great, too.  She is completely obsessed with princesses and loves to dress in tutus, crowns, dresses, fairy wings, and anything pink.  She loves Katy Perry right now and we got a couple videos of her playing the piano while seeing “Firework”.  She can count to 40, knows lots of Spanish, can spell all of our names, sounds out what letter different words start with, and is doing well all around.

Since the last post we’ve been to a couple Michigan weddings, have been apple picking and pumpkin picking, had a visit by the whole Schwartz family, went to the Renaissance festival, and had Halloween (no pictures from trick or treating, but Parker had a great time with Brody).  Parker dressed as Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and Odin was a banana.  I was at the hospital all day and wasn’t home in time to trick or treat, but Jared took both kids.  Parker is getting really excited for her birthday and her birthday party.  I can’t believe she is almost 3!

Here are all the pictures and videos from the past few months.  It will probably take a while to get through them all:)  I had some problems getting the videos to attach right so let me know if they don’t work.

Trying to catch up

Not a lot of time to write, but wanted to post our pictures and videos. Things are going really well. Parker still loves Odin. He is getting so big. He has had some neck problems and has a tendency to always lean it to the right and we have to take him to physical therapy to help fix it. Other than that he is great. He is awake a lot and very aware.  He loves to stare at the fan and smile.  He is a pretty happy baby.  He’s starting to love to stand all the time, just like Parker did.  Another early walker?  I go back to school in a few weeks and am trying to enjoy my last days with him before he starts daycare. One more semester until graduation!

It’s a BOY!

I don’t have a whole lot of time to update this, so I will just post our pictures for now and hopefully get to the videos later this week or this weekend. I wanted to get pictures of Odin up quickly so everyone could see him! He was born on Friday, June 3, at 4:09am, weighed 7lb 9oz, and was 21in long. A lot heavier than Parker was! His name is Odin William Jessop. He is doing well and Parker is completely in love with him. She loves to hold him and kiss him. She also wants to help whenever we do ANYTHING for him. She gets upset if we try to change his diaper without her. Too bad she’s not old enough to just do it herself:) We had a great time with the Jessops and are looking forward to the Schwartzes coming Wednesday!

These pictures start all the way back in early April and go up to Odin’s 1 week “birthday” this past Friday….

Spring has sprung

The weather has been so nice here so we have been getting Parker outside as much as possible.  She has planted some new flowers out front and loves to help water all of our plants.  Her daisies she planted with Grandma Jessop last year have bloomed and we count them everyday to see if any new ones have popped up.  It’s getting a little too hot for my taste, especially with all this extra weight I’m carrying.  I can only imagine how I’ll be feeling in a month!

Grammy and Baba Schwartz came to visit and helped us finish off the crawl space so we can start moving everything from our guest room down there for storage.  I don’t know what we would’ve done without them!!!  Time to make room for baby.  We have taken on the huge project of going through everything in the guest room to throw away or give away as much as possible so we can finally start getting it ready for the baby.  It’s a long process, but we are getting there.

We got hit by some of the storms they’ve talked about on the news, but fortunately had very minimal damage — just some damage to our patio furniture.  We mostly got a lot of crazy winds and big thunderstorms.

Here are the pictures from the last month or so (not including the last week and a half).  The pictures of Parker with the flower hat on her head are from a bonnet parade she was in at school.  There are some pictures of me and my baby bump, some from when Grammy and Baba were here, some to show the progress of the crawl space, and then just random everyday Parker pics.  She’s been doing great on her potty and now is starting to wake up with a dry diaper in the morning!  She’s such a big girl:) She likes to talk about becoming a big sister. We’ll see how she does when that time actually comes! I have about 2 more weeks of school until I’m done for the summer. I’m 34 weeks today so summer break can’t come soon enough…. And I only have one more week in my 20s! Onto the next age bracket!

Here are the videos.  Remember to click on “Read the rest of this entry” after the first video to see the rest of them:

What we’ve been up to

Everything’s been going great here in the Jessop household.  I am about 29 weeks pregnant now and the 3rd trimester is already starting to wipe me out.  This baby moves and kicks like crazy which is a strange feeling since Parker barely moved at all. There are some belly pictures of me at 24 weeks and later at 28 weeks.  I passed my glucose test last week so I don’t have to worry about gestational diabetes!!

Parker is doing great with her potty training and only has accidents every once in a while.  It just seemed to click one day.

Parker is really into singing right now.  She loves to sing every song she knows all the time.  Sometimes she wants us to join with her, and other times she yells “mommy STOP!” if I try to join her.  It’s very cute.  She also loves to repeat everything we say and it’s funny to make her say things that don’t sound right coming from a toddler like, “I know, right?” and “aww nuts!”  She also has started singing “baby, baby, baby” a lot, and since that is very similar to a Justin Bieber song (the only part of the only song of his that we know), we encouraged her to keep singing it and now she’s got Bieber fever.  She also really likes reading stories and often likes to take turns with us so we read a story to her, then she reads it to us.  I love hearing her little voice trying to remember what each page says.

She had a dance at her school, which is where we were for the video of her jumping and dancing and the pictures of her with her face painted.   She also had a little Valentine’s party at her school and there are some pictures of all the kids in her class sitting around eating lots of sugar.

We finally took her to a kids haircut place and there are some pictures of her mullet before she got it cut and then some “during” and  ”after” pictures.  She was so good and just sat there with a blank stare on her face while the girl was cutting.  It was funny.  It’s already turning into a mullet again.  The front parts just won’t grow!!!

I had an extra long spring break and we were able to take a roadtrip up to Michigan 2 weekends ago.  Parker did great during the drive each way.  We got to relive what it was like to be in a lot of snow!  It was good to be able to see everyone again.  We were also able to meet some new additions like our friends’ new son, Jaxson, and my cousin, Jason’s, new twins, Anna and Lucas.  Parker had a lot of fun being reunited with her 2nd cousin, Evan, who she hadn’t seen since they were less than 6 months old.

I think that’s about it.  I have about 8 weeks of classes left until my summer break that I am choosing to call my “maternity leave” and the weeks can’t go fast enough!  We decided to have concrete poured in our crawl space and now are going to put some walls up so we can use the space for storage.  We need a place to move all of the furniture and junk from the guest room so we can turn it into a baby room.  We chose a paint color for the room, but Jared’s been doing a lot of painting lately, finishing our stairway and upstairs hallway (I guess I should take some pictures of his work) so we’re holding off on starting a new painting project for now.  We are working on getting some new landscaping up.  We try to do a little bit each spring so that we can one day have a nice, full, landscaped yard.  Jared planted flowers up front, our neighbors are nice enough to be giving us a corkscrew willlow for some patio shade, and we are going to plant some bushes along the bare side of our house.  We are attempting to grow food and herbs in our garden again so hopefully it works out better than last year when our basil kept growing and growing and growing and nothing else really survived much!

Here are the videos. The 3rd one is cute, but Parker has a really gross face with snot and food on it…. so don’t watch it if that will gross you out. It’s very up close. Remember to click on “Read the rest of this entry” after the first video to see the rest of them:

Quick catch-up

Well I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had time to update this, and when I finally had a little bit of time, I wasn’t able to finish. So I’ve been working on this off and on for 2 weeks now. We have taken more pictures in those last couple weeks, but I add pictures and videos from folders that I save them into on the computer and so I only have ones I saved back when I started.
ANYWAY, here are pictures from the past couple months. I won’t go into detail with everything, but it covers Christmas and Parker’s birthday. She really enjoyed the holidays and couldn’t get enough of Frosty the Snowman. She still talks about him now sometimes. She really enjoyed her birthday and loved having her friends over. We are now in the middle of potty training and she has really done well. We just need to get her school on the same routine as us to solidify it.
Since the holidays I’ve been back in school, besides some snow days and late starts Parker has been enjoying going to school, and Jared’s been doing great at work. The baby is growing well and I’m finally starting to show a little bit. We are keeping the sex a surprise and fortunately it kept its legs shut at the last ultrasound so we couldn’t cheat and try to look:) I’m guessing it’s a boy but we’ll see.
Anyway, that’s about all for now. No time for details! Hope it doesn’t take forever to get through all of these and I hope they all work….

Here are the videos (remember to click on “Read the rest of this entry” after the first video to see the rest of them):

Halloween to Thanksgiving

Our pictures and videos are really building up so it might take the next month just to get through all of these.  So much has happened.

Parker’s school had a Trunk or Treat event where all the kids dressed up and got to trick or treat out of people’s car trunks.  She didn’t really understand it all at first, but got the hang of it after a little bit.  All the kids were adorable.  She LOVED trick or treating in Jackson’s neighborhood on Halloween.  She and Jackson had the best time together.  She was very nervous to go up to the houses, but as soon as the door opened she’d run up and grab candy.  At one point she and Jackson held hands and wouldn’t let go, even while grabbing candy.  Parker kept looking at him  and telling him where to go and saying “come on, Jackson” and things like that.  The 2 of them went on and on talking to eachother in gibberish.  She finally learned what candy is and then it wasn’t as easy for Jared and me to eat all of hers:)

Parker loved having Grammy and Grandpa (“Baba”) Schwartz, Uncle Matt, Uncle Bill, and Aunt Joann here.  She had fun playing with everyone.  She’s changed so much since the last time anyone saw her!

She is so obsessed with Christmas and Santa so we took her to Birkdale for a mini parade and to see Santa light the Christmas tree.  She can’t get enough of Santa on TV, but when he’s actually in front of her she freezes up and doesn’t want anything to do with him.  She enjoyed seeing the singing bears again, and playing with Jackson, Jack, and Tripp.  There is a funny video of Jackson saying “truck”, which he pronounces very clearly, “F-ck”.  We couldn’t get enough of it.

Parker had fun with Grandma and Bobby Jessop and Uncle Justin when they came for Thanksgiving.  She sat really well at her little Handy Manny table and ate her food.  I was able to go to her school for a Thanksgiving lunch which was really fun, but she wouldn’t eat any of the food.  She did much better at home and ate almost everything, especially the cranberries.

We were at Birkdale one day and tried to get Parker to sit on Santa’s lap, but she screamed and cried and pushed away so much that we couldn’t even get a crazy picture of her.  We’ll have to try again some other time.  While there we ended up buying a Christmas tree.  Parker really enjoyed decorating it.  We also got out a little mini tree for Parker and she really enjoyed putting her little ornaments on it.  She still loves it when we turn the lights on them every morning and evening.  Shortly after finishing hanging the ornaments we went to dinner and when we came home the tree was laying on it’s side.  Parker was pretty confused.  There are a few pictures from that.

Parker’s friend, Tripp, had a birthday party at the new Discovery Place Kids down the street from us.  Parker loved every minute of it.  They had so many different activities for the kids there.  We got a lot of pictures of her in all the different areas.

Now all of our company is gone and we’re getting back to “normal”.  Parker’s favorite holiday is clearly Christmas.  She is obsessed with Santa and Frosty the Snowman.  She sings about Frosty everyday and is always playing with snowman toys.  She loves seeing Christmas lights and Christmas trees.

I’m almost done with the semester and I’m looking forward to having a little break from studying.  We are also expecting baby #2 June 1st so that has added to the craziness around here!  There are some belly pictures of me at 8 or 9 weeks on here.  I’m getting a little belly sooner than with Parker, but am still not obviously pregnant yet.  I’m a little over 14 weeks now.  I’m very happy to be into the second trimester and getting some energy back as well as feeling better.  Parker loves looking at the ultrasound pictures!

I think that’s it for the past month and a half.  Hopefully I’ll be able to update this again in the next few weeks!

Here are all the pictures from our main camera, my phone camera, Jared’s phone camera, the Schwartz pictures, and the Jessop pictures from their last 2 visits.  Hopefully they all work because this is taking forever to organize!!!

Time for Fall

These past few weeks have been really busy. Jared and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary at the end of September. We went to Jackson’s 2nd birthday part the first weekend of October. There are a bunch of pictures here from that. Parker had a lot of fun. It was at a park and then we went to his house later to open presents and have dinner with everyone. The next day we went apple picking near Asheville like we did last year. Parker had a lot of fun! There are some cute pictures of her picking apples.
We finally picked out Parker’s Halloween costume for the year. She is going to be a flower gnome. She tried on the outfit and I couldn’t stop laughing. She’s so cute! Jared got a few pictures of her in it before she got sick of it. She wore it for a while, but then when she wanted it off she wanted it off immediately.
Grandma Jessop and Uncle Justin came down to visit and brought the dogs back. We all went to the Renaissance Festival. Parker had a great time and even got some fairy wings. That brought lots of attention from the people who really get into it and dress up. Everyone wanted to make comments to the little fairy princess.
Before we sent the dogs up to Michigan to stay about 3 months ago we had noticed Milhouse had a little bump on his foot. The vet said not to worry about it and it would go away in a few weeks. When he came back and we saw that it had gotten bigger instead of going away we took him back to the vet. They said it looks like cancer and they needed to take the whole toe. So poor little Milhouse had surgery last week to have his toe removed. We were lucky that it was a toe on the end because he said when it’s a middle toe they have to amputate the whole leg. Those are the toes they use to balance and run. They sent the mass off to be tested and we heard back that it has not spread anywhere else. That’s good news because if it had they said he would have to have his whole leg removed. He’s doing great and is back in the swing of things. He doesn’t seem to notice anything is different. Dogs are so resilient! I didn’t include a picture of his toe before the surgery because I think it is pretty gross, but I am posting pictures of his bandage afterwards and then what his foot looks like without a toe. Parker has been really concerned about him and asks about his “boo boo” when she sees him. She even helps him eat by letting him eat dog food out of her hand. When he first came home and was on a lot of drugs he could barely lift his head to eat. That’s where she learned to feed him out of her hand. She must still think he needs the extra attention:) She’s very sweet to him.
Today we went to a pumpkin patch with Brody and his family. We went to the same place we went last year with Grammy Schwartz. Parker had fun riding on the hayride, petting animals, and picking out her pumpkin. She is really into pumpkins right now so that was like heaven for her!
There are a couple videos of her watching a youtube video and laughing a lot. I will include the video that she is watching at the end of our videos so you can see for yourself what is so hilarious. She just can’t get enough of it.
Once again, most of these pictures are from our phones so the quality isn’t perfect. Lots of the pictures are blurry, but too cute to leave out.

Remember to click on “Read the rest of this entry” after the first video to see the rest of them. Again, this videos may seem out of order because I kept my videos and Jared’s separate:

The month in review

This past month has been pretty busy with me back in school. We actually have not picked up a camera this whole time, but fortunately we have taken some pictures and videos with our phones so we have something to post here. Our phones don’t always focus well and so a lot of the pictures are blurry. They are mostly too cute to leave out so I put them on here anyway.
Parker is talking soooo much now. She is putting words together to make sentences (mostly just 2 words like “up please” and “daddy’s shoes”). She points out and says pretty much every color these days and knows all her animals. She copies every word we say which is really funny. She also likes to copy every move we make. She sometimes will follow us around the house and walk just like us. If we stop and say “Bender, NO!” she’ll say the same thing. If we dance or move our head, she copies every move. She’s learning so much! Her newest teacher keeps raving about how smart she is. She is also getting more and more hair! She loves to take my hair rubberbands and do all of our hair. There are some pictures in here of a little ponytail I put in her hair when we were playing. She also likes to make Jared and me go “night night” on the floor and even gives us a shirt to sleep with, covers us with a blanket, and pats and rubs our backs. If one of us talks she’ll say “shhhh” with the most serious face. It’s so cute how she takes care of us.
She’s doing pretty well on her potty, but we don’t always try as hard as we could because they aren’t working on it at school yet. She really seems to be getting it, though, and likes to make a big announcement anytime anyone goes “pee pee”.
Anyway, here are the pictures and videos from the month. Once again, the videos may be out of order because they are a mixture of both of our phones’ cameras, but I don’t think it should be noticeable.

Summertime

This blog is getting harder and harder to update because we keep adding cameras and taking more pictures. So now we have our regular camera, our nice Nikon, and we are each taking pictures with our phones since we now have pretty decent cameras on them. That’s a lot of uploading and folders and resizing for me. I start school again tomorrow, though, so we may not be taking as many pictures in the next few weeks if I am really busy.  I’ll try to keep this up to date as much as possible!
My 3 weeks of summer have been nice. We spent the middle week in Arizona with my parents. Matt was able to make it out, too, which was fun because he hasn’t seen Parker since Christmas. Parker loved saying “Matt” all week and continued to ask “where Matt go?” once we were home. She, of course, was a great traveller as usual. That was fortunate because we had a lot of trouble with delayed flights and extra waiting time this trip. She got plenty of compliments at the ends of flights on being such a great kid.
We had a great time in Arizona and it was hard to come back. It was nice to be able to get up every morning to the beautiful views and then relax outside with some coffee as long as we wanted. It’s always nice seeing family again.  The stars were amazing at night and it is a fun place to watch meteor showers.  I don’t think there is too much I need to explain regarding the pictures. My dad has built and designed an amazing basement and we all had fun down there at the bar and in the theater. Parker really loved the waterfall at their house and always pulled us all over saying “where wawa go?” There is a really cute video of her watching a video of herself on Jared’s phone. She must have thought she was pretty hilarious. The video she is watching is the one called “pizza face” and is just of her standing around eating pizza.
This past Friday Parker’s school had a teacher’s work day and was closed so I was home with her all day and Brody was here in the morning. They were so cute together and got along really well. They kept copying eachother and following eachother around. They never fought or anything and were great at sharing. Later that day I met Tami and Lauren at the fountains and let the kids play. Parker warmed up to the water after a while and had fun.
I have 4 different photo galleries now for each camera/phone, but the videos are all in a row. They go out of order whenever you get to a different camera.
