We had a fun week with Grandma Jessop and Uncle Justin. We got Parker some new clothes and a cool new “big kid” toy. We babysat Cooper so they got to play together again. Then they went home on Wednesday. Can’t wait until they come back again:)
On Saturday we went to Birkdale to hear music again. As usual it was uncomfortably hot but very fun anyway. Today we bought Parker an umbrella stroller to take with us when we fly to Arizona this week. We took her for a walk in it and she seemed to really like facing the world.
On Saturday we tried giving Parker some of her friend, Jackson’s, puffs and she did really well eating them. This was her first time ever eating anything other than breastmilk. So yesterday we went and bought her some of her own plus some rice cereal. She really really wants to eat real food–you can tell by the way she watches us eat. So that’s a fun new adventure!
I can’t believe she is going to be 6 months old on Wednesday!!
Here are some pictures that Grandma Jessop took while here:
And here are our pictures from the week. There are some of Parker trying out a bike at Babies R Us, a few of us going swimming with April and Flannery, some from out at the park listening to music, and some of her in her new stroller. The pictures of the dogs are ones I took when a lady walked her stroller by us at the park. Their names are Jelly Bean and Sugar Plum:
These first few videos of her crawling are kind of boring. She would get up on her hands and knees like she was going to crawl and then as soon as I’d starting videotaping she would flatten down again. It’s cute when she smiles at grandma, though. The ones of her and Jackson are adorable. I think Parker has a crush…
Lots of new milestones this week. I think we can officially say that Parker is sitting up all by herself. We stay close-by in case she loses balance but she really doesn’t need our help. On Tuesday I let her chew on my finger and felt 2 sharp bumps chomp down on me. So she has 2 teeth popping through! Wednesday Grandma J and Uncle Justin came into town to visit with us for a week. Parker’s been having lots of fun with them. Later that day we took Parker for another “photo shoot” and this time her friend, Jackson, was there, too, and we were able to get some really cute pics of the 2 of them together. Saturday evening we all went to an outdoor mall area down the road that has live bands playing on Friday and Saturday nights in the summer. We met a few friends there and relaxed on blankets with some of Parker’s baby friends. And now she’s practically crawling. She gets up on her knees and rocks back and forth like she is trying to get moving. The other day she scooted backwards on her stomach from one side of her crib to the other. I’m not ready for a crawler yet!
We had a fun Father’s Day. Jared and I got to go see a movie while Grandma and Uncle Justin stayed with Parker. We can’t remember the last time we went to a theater. Then we all got to go to dinner.
It’s been a good week:)
Here are some pictures from the week. The one of Parker asleep on a blanket is from our playgroup on Tuesday when she randomly passed out for a while in the middle of all the babies playing. I guess she’s not picky about where she sleeps! Then there are some of her playing with Pat and Justin and at the pool in her new bathing suit. When we went to see the band we dressed her in the most ridiculous outfit so the pictures of her with the hat and shoes are from that night while we were getting ready. The rest are just pictures of us with friends listening to the outdoor music, her playing with grandma, daddy’s Father’s Day gift, and some other cute ones.
Here are the videos from the week. Apparently there were a lot of things to take a video of this time! I accidently took one sideways so you’ll have to watch it with your head turned:) It is too cute to just leave out so I added it into the mix. There is a really funny one of her sitting on the counter playing with chips. I think it’s the 8th one…
Parker got to go swimming for the first time this week! …and for the second time and the third time and the fourth time… She did great the first and second days and really liked the water. Then when Jared got to come with us over the weekend she wasn’t as enthusiastic about the water. But she still doesn’t seem to be afraid of it so that makes me happy:)
Here are some pictures and videos of the week. There are some of me taking her swimming the first time with our neighbor, Gunnar, and then her passed out after the walk home; then there are a couple of me and Parker swimming with our new friends Kelly and Brooke; there are a few of her making funny faces while trying to eat the camera (she tries to eat anything that comes near her mouth these days); then there are some of her playing with some beaded ladybugs my friend, Cristiane, in Japan made for her; I had to take some pictures of what we see from the side of her pack and play when she wakes up from a nap-her little bald head sticking up over the side is sooo cute; the next ones are from her first pool experience with daddy; and last are some of her in a cute outfit trying to eat the camera.
Parker has really started growing a lot of hair! We are so excited! Pigtails aren’t far off:) She’s also gotten really good at sitting up and does a great push up when on her stomach.
She had a fun week. She was still a little sick in the beginning of the week but she was growing a lot and was finally able to fit into some fun new clothes. Then on Friday she made new friends, Carrie and Tom, and got to sit at a bar:) Then on Saturday she and daddy went to Flannery’s 1st birthday party and had lots of fun with the kids. To end the week she got to go to our neighbors’ to meet their newest family member, Griffin.
Everything is going great!
I can’t believe Parker is 5 months old today! Time is flying.
This week she has been using her hands more and more and also has found a new fascination with all the animals. She loves to try to pet them and smiles a lot when she watches them.
We had a playgroup of moms and babies over here on Thursday morning. It was fun to see Parker with the other babies. Now she has a new group of friends to play with:)
On a sad note, she got her first cold this weekend. The poor girl is all congested and has a runny nose and cough. She seems to be getting over it pretty quickly, though, and it hasn’t made her any less happy:)
Here are some pictures from the week. We got to go to our friends, Sudi and Arezu’s, house on Friday night to hang out with them and our friends, April and Jeremy and their daughter Flannery (who is about to turn 1 next weekend and we have pictures posted on here of her from the day she was born) and our friend, Debbie. It was fun to see everyone and see the girls interact. The pictures are pretty self-explanatory and the videos have titles that explain them so I won’t go into detail:)
Oh, and by the way, I SWEAR the TV is never just blaring in our house. It always seems to sound really loud in the videos but we keep it quiet when it’s on. And normally we just have music playing. I think the mic on the camera is extra sensitive…
Here are some pictures from the past few days. There are some of her practicing standing with her Baby Einstein toy, some of Milhouse trying to be a baby like her, a couple of her sleeping next to her new friend, Brooks, when they fell asleep at a BBQ we had at the neighbor’s house, some of her cuddling with my tshirt during a nap, the suitcase from Aunt Wendy, and a couple to show that she can finally touch the ground while in her Jumperoo:)
Well, another week has passed and things are pretty much the same. Here are some pictures and videos of Parker with her friends, Cooper and Gunnar; some of her in cute outfits people have sent recently; some close-ups I am using for some drawings I am going to do; Parker watching daddy at his softball game; and some random others.
Parker’s Uncle Matt was able to make it down here on Friday night to visit with us over Mother’s Day weekend! This was the first time they’ve met. She had a lot of fun hanging out with him. Here are some pictures and videos of her and daddy waiting for Matt’s flight to come in, us having fun playing with stickers on her face, Parker watching a storm with daddy, Matt and Parker skyping Grandma and Grandpa Schwartz, then some random ones of her on the counter and playing with her new toy from Uncle Matt.
It was a great weekend:)
I’m trying to update this a little more often so it doesn’t become an ENORMOUS task involving lots of uploading. Here are some pictures from the last few days and today. Parker finally tried out her Tigger robe, experienced the feel of grass for the first time, went for a ride on Jared’s shoulders, posed in the cutest dress ever, and hung out with some of my friends from work.
We seem to be taking more videos than pictures these days. She just doesn’t quit talking! She’s even started a new way of crying that sometimes sounds like she’s just talking but in a really mad way. Even at night she’ll lay in her crib wide awake blabbing on and on to nobody. Here are a whole bunch of videos from the past few days:
Parker turns 4 months old today! We went for her checkup this morning and everything looks great. She is 13.9lbs and 24inches long. She really screamed a lot when they gave her shots this time. I felt awful. But now she’s sleeping so it’s ok:)
She is right on track with everything. She is talking a lot and starting to grab things around her (a little bit…), she can sometimes roll over, she plays with her hands a lot, and she even laughed the other day! She hasn’t laughed again and daddy missed it but she’s trying really hard to do it again for him:) She’s actually sleeping all the way through the night now (9 hours) so it’s great for me to be able to catch up on my sleep. I’ve been taking her to a mommy’s playgroup every week and it’s been great for her to meet and “play with” other babies her own age. She’s already making lots of friends!
A couple weeks ago we were at the mall and stopped in for some info on portraits and ended up having a free photo session. She did great and took some adorable pictures so we definitely need to go back and have her looking extra cute for a planned session. We will have to post some of those on here.
Here are some pictures and videos from the past couple weeks. It may seem like all we do is put her on the floor under her Baby Einstein thing but I swear we don’t! She just really likes it and that’s when she gets the most animated and talkative and it makes for the best videos:)
These first pictures are some I took with a message for her Uncle Matt who she STILL hasn’t met yet:
Here are some random ones of her hands and feet (I love to look at them:) ), then some more of her being cute and Milhouse trying to act like a baby to get some attention:
OK, there are a lot of videos here and most people will get very bored trying to watch them all. I know the grandparents will like to see Parker in her normal day-to-day boring life, but for the rest of you, my favorites are the one labeled “Blowing on Parker’s face” (the 6th one) and “Trying to laugh” (the last one). The rest are just her talking and screaming and fussing and sleeping and smiling and staring:)
